The aims of the learning and teaching of the English subject in our school are based on the following:

1. English Language Curriculum Guide:

To provide every student of English with further opportunities for extending their knowledge and experience of the cultures of other people as well as opportunities for personal and intellectual development, further studies, pleasure and work in the English medium.

The major concern of the subject is to arouse the interest of the students in reading.

The learning and teaching of different levels

There are totally two Native-speaking English teachers working in our school. To develop students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in daily life contexts, English teachers, in collaboration with the Native Speaking English teachers of respective levels, carry out various classroom learning activities or engage students in effective language programmes, so as to help them use the target language items purposefully.
